Trouble sending or receiving emails – reminder

As a reminder if you are having trouble sending or receiving emails.
TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 are no longer supported for email clients and webbrowsers. This can lead to problems receiving and sending emails, if you are still using an email client with an older operating system.
To fix these problems, you need to update your operating system and email client software to the latest version.

Note: You will always be able to send and receive emails through our webmail. We recommend using Thunderbird as an email client, which usually does not cause problems and works very reliably and stably.

Why deprecate TLS 1.0 and 1.1?
The older TLS versions are riddled with security vulnerabilities. As such these protocols are updated over time to patch out these vulnerabilities and keep users safe. TLS 1.0 came out in 1999 and has had many issues with heartbleed, POODLE, CRIME, etc. That said, it’s been a long time coming for companies to drop their support of 1.0 and 1.1.

First, please update your OS and Email client software!
