You dont need a PayPal account to use PayPal as a payment gateway.
Simply select the PayPal payment method during the checkout process, and then select the "I don't have a PayPal Account" option, then you are forwarded to the PayPal payment site. This will enable you to pay with a credit or debit card without having to create a PayPal account.
